KLBC WOMEN DEPARTMENT

The Women Department of KLBC celebrated its 50th Anniversary on
the 26th of January, 2017 (1967-2017). It started under the initiative
of Late Rev. Phandeo along with Late Mrs. Nchuponi Kikon as the first
Women Leader and with 16 faithful mothers. Today, there are more than
1100 mothers as its members. The Women Department comprises of
Women Leader, an Associate Women Leader and a team of
Deaconesses.
Women Department is a ministry for women of all ages that seek to
develop and to build a loving, friendly, joyful, growing community of
women and providing them the opportunities to worship, serve and grow
in Christ. Through genuine and loving relationships we encourage,
equip, motivate, guide and pray for each other. Our ultimate aim is
solely for the glory and furtherance of God’s kingdom.

Yearly Programs & Activities:

  • Fasting & Prayer Program (January & July)
  • Special Prayer Service for the Children on the second Thursday of January (Otsoe Oro Mmha Randanka Ekhüm)
  • Women of all ages come together on the Eve of Good Friday to commemorate the Passion of Christ (Eloetso Mmyanta Ekhüm)
  • Gift Box Service
  • Widows Prayer Day
  • Prayer Meeting every first Tuesday of the month in all the respective colonies
  • Collection of “A Fistful of Rice” on the first Tuesday of the month. The money generated out of it is utilized for mission purposes.
  • Thanksgiving service in the month of December
  • All the Thursday Services are focused on a variety of topics and  themes like Bible Study, Hymnology, Stories of Women in the Bible, Testimonies etc.

Mission Works

  • Sponsored three students for Theological studies (Bachelor of Divinity)
  • Sponsored Women Leaders in 26 remote Lotha Churches for the last 15 years.
  • Since April 2016, the Women Department has been sponsoring one Evangelist at the Mission field in Totopara/Malbazar
  • The Department also undertakes visitations to Hospitals/Jail/ Old Age Home/ Orphanage Home etc
